Burndown Chart

A burndown chart is a run chart of remaining work. It is useful for predicting when all of the work will be completed.

Updated today

A burndown chart or burn-down chart is a graphical representation of work left to do versus time. The outstanding work is often on the vertical axis, with time along the horizontal.

In piplanning.io we have introduced the Burndown chart as one of the charts on the global Metrics modal, which consistently displays metrics across all ARTs or Teams depending from where you launch it.

Display ART-level or Team-level metrics simply by navigating to the following Boards respectively:

  • ART-level metrics are available from the ART Planning Board > ART-level Metrics button in the top left navigation bar.

  • Team-level metrics are available from the Team Board > Team-level metrics button in the top left navigation.

Burndown Chart Display Setting Options

You can configure the Timeframe and the Metric unit for the Burndown chart, the options are:

Timeframe

  • Select an individual Iteration (Sprint)

  • Select the entire Whole PI as the time period

Metric Unit

  • Select Work Item Count (good for mature teams or teams practicing Scrumban where Story Points estimation is no longer used)

Burndown Chart Filtering Options
