piplanning.io pulls in the existing states of every workflow used for mapped work items.
As portfolio item states are not mapped to a schedule state (status category) they are not mapped to a piplanning.io status category color and shown as empty

Changing a status
Status changes in Rally are instantly reflected in piplanning.io.

Changing flow states in Rally
In case any of the flow states used for one of the sticky types in the piplanning app are changed in Rally, make sure that you do a manual reload in the rte cockpit.
