Export PI Session Data (PI Objectives, Risks, Dependencies) via XLSX Download

You can export the PI Session data using the XLSX Download utility

Overview

The XLSX Download utility provides a way to export all data from your PI Session into a single Excel (.xlsx) file.

  • Use Excel's native functionality or import the data into specialized analytics tools to gain deeper insights into your program increment planning.

What Data is Included in the XLSX Download

The XLSX download contains comprehensive information from your PI Session:

  • Work Items: All Features, User Stories, Defects, and other work items from both the ART Backlog Board and individual Team Boards

  • Dependencies: Complete dependency mapping and relationships between work items

  • Risks: Both ART/Program-level and Team-specific risks with their current status and mitigation details

  • PI Objectives: Team PI Objectives as defined during your planning session. Note: the export of the ART PI Objectives is being added soon.

How to access the XLSX Download

Prerequisites

  • You must have either Admin or PI Admin role permissions to access this functionality

  • The PI Session you want to export must be accessible to you via the RTE Cockpit > SAFe PIs page.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Navigate to the RTE Cockpit > SAFe PIs menu/page

  2. Click the three horizontal ellipsis Action menu icon for the selected PI Session

  3. Select the XLSX Download from the dropdown Action menu. XLSX Download menu item from the PI Session Action menu.

  4. The *.xlsx file will automatically download to your computer's default download location

  5. Open the *.xlsx file in either MS Excel or Google Workspace/Sheets.

You will see that the *.xlsx file consists of multiple Sheets each for the specific Solution Train/ART/Team Boards, the Risks, the Dependencies and the PI Objectives in the PI Session.
